Unislim started when Agnes McCourt wanted to lose weight after having her third baby. She gathered a few friends together and, over the weeks, the group cheered and motivated each other towards success. Word spread about Agnes`slimming club, and so in 1972, together with her late husband Brian, Unislim was established. Unislim is Irelands longest running slimming and health organization with hundreds of weekly meetings organized by a team of 180 class leaders. Still a family-run business, with Agnes daughter Fiona Gratzer at the helm, the Unislim programme is based on a healthy, nutritious eating plan combined with increased exercise. Members are encouraged to make healthy lifestyle changes and are motivated and encouraged by our leaders to achieve real results. Our plan combines the best scientific know-how on the Glycaemic Index (GI) with our unique units system, which measures foods in units depending on their calories, fat and fibre content.
