Japanese knotweed Ireland offers full survey services for Japanese Knotweed and other Invasive Non Native Species (INNS). With our in house horticulturist and Ecology consultants we are full equipped for both large and small scale survey requirements. Our operatives are trained in GIS and GPS technologies. Our services include desktop surveys, field work, digital mapping and creation of distribution maps.

Herbicide treatment programme

We offer extensive herbical treatments, ranging from stem injection, foliar application and wiping application. The application method is determined based on the site in question, e.g. proximity to other vegetation. Our inhouse horticulturist has developed a number of proprietary techniques around factors such as weather, plant condition, concetrations and mixtures to maximise the effect of our treatment programmes,

Excavation and off site removal

Where it is required, the contaminated soil material can be removed from site to be disposed of at a suitably licensed landfill. Correct permits are required for the transportation and disposal of this material.

Burial and Root membranes

A popular alternative to stockpiling is burial of plant materials and contaminated soil. Due to the ability of knotweed to regrow from very small pieces of stem and root, buried materials need to be encapsulated with an appropriate geosynthetic root membrane to stop the spread of root after burial.
