Homeward Bound is run by myself, Shirley Hennigar, from my home in Co. Clare where I live with my family which consists of my husband, 3 kids, 5 dogs, and 7 cats.
I've been involved with animals all my life, and always brought strays home, but didn't 'officially' start rescuing and rehoming til I put a name to it in June 2009. Since then, I've rehomed around 90 dogs. Most of these have come through the rescue side of Homeward Bound, and about a dozen or so have been Home2Home cases.

Home2Home

This is a homing service for owners whose dogs are already neutered, and who intend to continue to care for their dog until a suitable home is decided upon. The dog will go directly from his current home to his new home. A Dog CV form is filled in by the owner. This is a detailed questionnaire which provides a dog's life story.....his history, health, temperament, habits, etc. so that the most suitable forever home can be matched to the dog. A Home Visit applies to potential adopters to ensure an enclosed garden and a safe environment for the dog.
