Vaccinations

Vaccinations are necessary to keep your pet healthy, as they prevent diseases that can kill their victims. Once your young puppy or kitten has got their initial vaccinations, you will receive an annual reminder from us about your pet's booster programme and health check.

Fleas, Mites and Ticks

Protecting your pet from fleas, mites and ticks keeps them healthy, as these are often carriers of serious diseases. Puppies and kittens can be treated from six weeks of age. This will last for four weeks and should be repeated at four weekly intervals. If you don't have a regular flea prevention plan in place, your pet can become infected with tapeworms. This is because fleas are the intermediate hosts (carriers) for tapeworms.

Microchipping

Micro-chipping will ensure your pet will always be identifiable if he/she ever goes missing. It gives you peace of mind. It is a small chip, about the size of a grain of rice that is placed under the skin into the scruff at the back of the neck. Each chip has its own unique number that you must then enter into a database, along with all of the relevant information about your pet, its breed, colour, sex etc, as well as your contact details.

Dental Care

Looking after your dog or cat's teeth will keep your pet healthy. Studies in veterinary practice show that periodontal or gum disease exists in over 85% of pet dogs and cats over two years of age.

Pet Passports

Pet Insurance

We strongly advise you have your pet insured. We advise that you continue to have your pet insured for all his/her lifetime. It will give you peace of mind knowing that if your pet does unfortunately need veterinary attention at some stage, that he/she can receive the very best treatment. Your insurance will cover all your veterinary fees incurred for any illness or injuries, less an excess*, up to a maximum amount per policy year. This maximum amount differs between policies but is in the order of several thousand euros.
